As for weight, I have a Smoke composites handguard on mine (12") and I love it. As you noted it is a big weight reduction and that reduction is on the FRONT of the gun. My gun balances much better now. If you go with Smoke they make two diameters that will fit. The inside of the ring measured 1.53 inches, so some suppressors will fit inside the handguard.
