Feb 22, 2020. #1. Hi everyone. Just signed up to the forum. I picked up my 2020 Denali 2500 hd duramax this week and noticed a loud knocking at idle which increases in volume as the engine warms up. Main and oil cooling were increased to deal with the extra power. I drive 70miles round trip to work, non-highway, with hills through towns. I had set the trip odometer the day I bought it and it's averaging almost 17, including some mild camper towing. Tank to tank I'm seeing better than 18 with regens.No major, recurring issues with the first generation of L5P trucks. One of the most common is the coolant tank sensor going bad. Another thing that owners have noticed is the TMAP sensor getting caked with soot and causing other issues.
